My Aluminum Pan Kingdom…The ramblings of “the wife”

By: Amanda Homes

Welcome to my corner of the Holmescooking universe! Many of you know me from watching Justin’s videos. However, if you don’t know who I am please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Amanda and I am a stay at home mom who also heads up the website for my husband’s business.

Before becoming a SAHM, I was a design engineer. I have a huge love for AutoCAD and all things design, but when the first (of five) of my kids was born, Justin and I both decided unanimously that I would stay home and be a mommy. This is something I’ve always dreamed of doing!

Our road to becoming parents wasn’t a cake walk. We had several loses but we are so very thankful and blessed to have five beautiful, healthy kids!

A lot of people tell me on a regular basis how I make having a larger family look so easy. Let me reassure you, it isn’t as easy as it looks. There are many moments talking to myself and late nights doing chores that didn’t get done earlier in the day. But there are also many, many moments of laughter, hugs from my kids, group story time, family meals, library outings, snuggles and so much more.

For every difficult moment I believe there are ten wonderful, happy moments to take its place! Life is what you make it. It is a conscious choice to find the silver lining in all situations. Being well rounded is an art form. Realizing that things don’t always go the way we think they should, but putting emphasis on the positive.

My intention for this page is to write whatever is on my mind every week. There are a lot of people out in our world that need some encouragement and to see that we are all just the same.

Thank you for joining me! Scroll below to read new mini articles from me every week.

Sunday Morning Scurry

Sunday mornings always mean one main thing for our family… Sunday school. The kids have so much fun connecting with their friends, singing and doing all things Sunday school related, as do Justin and I. However, the process of getting to Sunday school is a whole different matter. Does anyone else feel like the whole week could go by without a hitch but Sunday mornings are when all things that can wrong, do go wrong?

Honestly, by the time we make it to church I usually am frazzled and sweating. But I wouldn’t have my Sundays any other way.

Saturday nights consist of laying out all their outfits, giving everyone baths and prepping my purse with emergency snacks, wet wipes and any other essentials. This process helps a lot when the alarm clock goes off on Sunday morning.

Do any of you moms and dads have any more tips that may help us all speed up more on those early mornings?

Watercolor Feature

I love all things art! Recently, in the past year, I have started to do watercolor art. It has been a learning curve for sure! I’ve done this form of painting throughout my whole life but not on a more refined, mature version like I’m trying to do now. Here are some of my paintings. The shell one is my most recent; I was in a vacation mindset for sure.
