Hearty Chili

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 white onion diced
  • 3 diced green peppers
  • 4 Tbsps minced garlic
  • 45 oz (3 15oz cans) diced tomatoes
  • 1 4oz can diced green chiles
  • 3 15oz cans tomato sauce
  • 6 Tbsps or 3 packets of your favorite chili mix seasonings
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 40 oz large can hot chili beans

Instructions

  • First, in a large pot, brown ground chuck and then drain.
  • Next, add sausage, onion, green peppers, garlic and cook until browned.
  • After sausage is browned, add diced tomatoes, green chiles, tomato sauce, chili mix, beans and tomato paste, stirring occasionally while simmering for at least an hour.
  • After about an hour, all the flavors have marinated together and you can serve!
  • We usually dish ours up with crackers, cheese, sour cream and a peanut butter sandwich and let people dress it how they like it, some people love it thin like a soup and others love it so thick they can eat it with a fork. Customize it to fit your taste buds. Enjoy!
