Hearty Chili
What’s better on a breezy, dreary night than a big bowl of chili, snuggled up with a blanket and good book? Nothing! And this recipe is the perfect choice for your next chili night.

Here’s what you’ll need to recreate my chili recipe, a favorite in our home.
- 3 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 white onion diced
- 3 diced green peppers
- 4 Tbsps minced garlic
- 45oz (3 15oz cans) diced tomatoes
- 1 4oz can diced green chiles
- 3 15oz cans tomato sauce
- 6 Tbsps or 3 packets of your favorite chili mix seasonings
- 6oz can tomato paste
- 40oz large can hot chili beans

Let’s get cooking!
First, in a large pot, brown ground chuck and then drain.
Next, add sausage, onion, green peppers, garlic and cook until browned.

After sausage is browned, add diced tomatoes, green chiles, tomato sauce, chili mix, beans and tomato paste, stirring occasionally while simmering for at least an hour.
After about an hour, all the flavors have marinated together and you can serve!

We usually dish ours up with crackers, cheese, sour cream and a peanut butter sandwich and let people dress it how they like it, some people love it thin like a soup and others love it so thick they can eat it with a fork. Customize it to fit your taste buds. Enjoy!
